Description

Rayon is made by mechanically pulping plant cellulose and then chemically liquifying the pulp with toxic chemicals. The pulp is then extruded to create fibers which are spun into yarns, and then knit or woven into a fabric Rayon is a type of synthetic fibre with similar characteristics to those of silk. Rayon is used in textile industry for making clothing like sarees, blouses, dresses, socks. It is used to make furnishing such as bed-sheets, curtains, blankets etc. It is used to make carpets.
